Description	:	According to an article in the Xenia Evening Gazette on July 20, 1923, Charles Coffman was the village marshall of Yellow Springs. He was attempting to adjust the belt on a threshing machine on the Ralph Funderburgh farm in Yellow Springs when he was drawn into the machine and suffered skull fractures. Three surgeons at the Espey Hospital said there was no hope of recovery, so gave up attempts to operate.
