Son of James Ware Morton and Martha Young OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 28, 1957 CHARLES ALVA MORTON Charles Alva Morton, third child of James Ware and Martha Young Morton, was born Nov. 3, 1877, in Pleasant township, Lucas county, Iowa, on the same farm he lived on at the time of his death. He passed away at the Corydon hospital March 20, 1957, at the age of 79 years, four months and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Belle Agan, March 26, 1901, and to this union two sons were born, Clyde Charles and Vernon Lemuel, both of Chariton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and one brother. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters-in-law, two granddaughters, four brothers, a number of nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was converted in the Coal Glen church a number of years ago. Funeral services were held at the Miley Chapel Friday, March 22, with the Rev. Everett Hollingshead officiating. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
