Came to Sac City Iowa in 1873 married Oct 23, 1872 Susie Daniels. He was a veterinarian. They might have had two other children William and Velma. From an e-mail by Judy Jackson dated 10 Jan 2003 In her notes for Augustus Langford "Charles" Brown. she writes that the "original record at the San County Court House has the marriage license issued November 23, 1873. However his obit lists the marriage date as Oct 23 , 1873 (this from Connie) According to Connie, Charlie Brown had coal black hair and one brown eye and one blue eye. Obituary for Charles Brown. Written on side is Dec 29, 1938, Clarksville. "Charles A. Brown, 87, died last Thursday from heart disease, complicated by old age. He was born March 11, 1851, near Bangor, ME, son of Joseph and Catherine Brown. He came to Sac City in 1872 and had been a resident of this state ever since. He was married Oct 23, 1872 to Susie Daniels, and came to Clarksville to make his home in 1893. He followed the profession of veterianian. Mrs. Eva Lehman, of Shell Rock, and Mrs. J.C. Bolin of Clarksville, his daughter, remain and there are two sons, Frank of Waterloo, and William of West Bend. There are 22 grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services for Mr. Brown were held at Hammel funeral home in Clarksville at 2 Saturday afternoon. Burial in Linwood cemetery here.".
