Barker was born in New York state, December 26, 1862, and departed this life May 30, 1932, at his home in McCool Junction, Nebraska, aged sixty-nine years, five months and six days. When four years of age, he moved with his parents to near Peoria, Illinois. Here he grew to manhood. Then, with his parents he removed to Fairmont, Nebraska. Barker was born in New York state, December 26, 1862, and departed this life May 30, 1932, at his home in McCool Junction, Nebraska, aged sixty-nine years, five months and six days. When four years of age, he moved with his parents to near Peoria, Illinois. Here he grew to manhood. Then, with his parents he removed to Fairmont, Nebraska. On July 11, 1888, he was united in marriage to Ida J. Ellis of McCool Junction, Nebraska. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Kate Allen of McCool Junction and Mrs. Ruth Carson of Fairmont, Nebraska. Besides his wife and two daughters, he leaves three grandsons and two granddaughters, three brothers and one sister, with a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Fairmont. His mother, father and six brothers preceded him to the better land. Funeral services were held at the home in McCool Junction, Wednesday, June 1st, at 2:00 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. Con Hewitt, pastor of the U.B. Church. Interment was made in the Fairmont Cemetery, with Masonic honors. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were W.H. Barker and family of Burwell and W.R. Price and family of York; Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Pearson and daughter, old friends, came from Waco to attend the services. Brother of Burling M. Barker, and uncle to Edith May Barker.
