Description	:	Ida Jane Ellis, daughter of Hammond and Rachel Ann Ellis, was born July 27, 1868, in Centerville, Appanoose county, Iowa, and departed this life in Geneva, Nebraska, October 13, 1950, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 16 days. She came with her parents at an early age to Nebraska and located in what was later named York county. This place remained her home for the remainder of her life. Read More	Ida Jane Ellis, daughter of Hammond and Rachel Ann Ellis, was born July 27, 1868, in Centerville, Appanoose county, Iowa, and departed this life in Geneva, Nebraska, October 13, 1950, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 16 days. She came with her parents at an early age to Nebraska and located in what was later named York county. This place remained her home for the remainder of her life. On July 11, 1888, she was united in marriage to Charles B. Barker, and to this union were born two daughters-- Ruth, now Mrs. Harry Carson of Fairmont, and Kate, now Mrs. Arthur Allen of McCool. Mr. Barker passed away May 30, 1932. Mrs. Barker was united in marriage with James Cudaback, March 31, 1938. In early life, Mrs. Cudaback embraced the Christian faith and was united with the United Brethren Church in McCool. Here she found er field of service and remained in this activity as long as health and strength permitted. She was a quiet and unassuming person, but whenever there was a need in the community and she was called upon, she willingly responded to that service. This was the joy and ministry of the pioneer women of her generation. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America lodge for many years. She spent more than the past two years in Roselawn Rest home in Geneva, where the kindly ministry of Mrs. Irene Bobbitt was given to her and so greatly appreciated y her and her family. It was here that the "Blessed passing out of time into eternity" took place, releasing her body from the pain of earth to that body which shall know no pain. She leaves besides her two daughters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one grandson, Wilbur Allen having died in the service of his country, January 4, 1948. There are two brothers, John Ellis of McCool and Jess Ellis of Geneva; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Armstrong of Gordon and Mrs. Frank Russell and Mrs. Eva Price of York. There are many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held from the McCool Evangelical United Brethren church, Monday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m., and were conducted by the Reverends Maude V. Mann of Geneva and Susan Brown, the local pastor. The ministry of music was presented by Mrs. Clint Graham, Mrs. Willard Hall and Mrs. Will Shiply. The pallbearers were Will Seng, Lew Barker, Lawrence Williams, Leroy Jackson, Fred Allen and Dale Carson. Interment in the Fairmont Cemetery.
