Collins, more familiarly known as "Cott", C.B. of (sic) Carl, was born June 22, 1906, and died at his home Thursday, Oct. 9, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 16 days. The fourth child of Thomas and Anna Yunker Collins, he was born, reared and lived until his death on the farmstead east of Lawrence. Collins, more familiarly known as "Cott", C.B. of (sic) Carl, was born June 22, 1906, and died at his home Thursday, Oct. 9, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 16 days. The fourth child of Thomas and Anna Yunker Collins, he was born, reared and lived until his death on the farmstead east of Lawrence. Collins was baptized at the Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence, and remained a faithful member throughout his life. He received his formal education at Sacred Heart School and at the rural school, District 57, close enough to his home to be called the "Collins" school. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Danehey Jan. 18, 1950, and to this union one child, Roxann, was born. Until his death, Collins remained an active member of the Lawrence farming community, living on the same farm on which he was born and which his grandfather, Frank Collins, had purchased from the Burlington Railroad in the 1880's. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Joe, and a sister, Georgina Randolph. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Mrs. Tom Corbett, and grandson, Kenneth, Salina; sister, Evalyne Collins, Rochester, Minn.; a brother, Tom Collins, Lawrence; and 20 nieces and nephews. Rites were at Sacred Heart Church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, with the Rev. Charles Gergen officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
