Description	:	Charles Brandmire was born Charles Georg Brandmaier in Traunstein, Bavaria the first of four children born to Georg Brandmaier and Anna. He married Mary Magdalene Winkler in Bavaria about 1849. She died January 16, 1853. He married Anna Maria Hirschman, born in Berlin, about March 1856 in Bavaria. Schiessl" On June 30, 1856 Charles and his wife Anna Marie Hirschmann, together with his parents Georg age 50 and Anna age 59; sister Mariane age 20; brothers Michael age 23 and John Georg age 25 sailed from Hamburg to Quebec City, Canada. Also on this sailing were Anna Hirschman's parents and siblings. They left on the sailing ship Transit. They settled in Morrisburg, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. Charles' first five children were born in Morrisburg, and the sixth was born in Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, and the last two were born in Utica, Winona, MN. His sister, Mary Ann Brandmaier is on find a grave at 49906926. His brother Michael Brandmire, 60512610, was born September 1832 in Bavaria, per the 1900 census, and died in probably Elmwood, Tuscola, MI., April 10, 1912.
