Born February 6, 1848; died September 14, 1915. Aged 67 years, 7 months and 8 days. Charles B. Duncan died at the Soldiers Home, in Leavenworth, Kansas, last Monday, where he had been living for several months. No particulars of his death has been made known, but it is supposed be died very suddenly. He was aged about 64 years and a number of years ago was a resident of this city, afterwards moving to Quincy where be resided until after his wife's death, which occurred two years ago last spring. His body was brought to this city yesterday afternoon on No. 4, and taken to the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. R. L. Thomas and Mayor Thomas, and this morning will be taken to Shelbyville, where the funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at 10:00 o'clock. Interment in the I. O. O. F. cemetery beside his wife. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. N. C. Miller, of Shelbyville; Mrs. J. H. Vanskike, northwest of Shelbyville; Mrs. H. B. Dines and Miss Lillie Duncan, of Quincy, and one brother, Geo. Duncan, Kansas City. The Shelbina Torchlight (Shelbina, MO), 1915-09-17; page 5, column 3 CHARLES B. DUNCAN DEAD Relatives in Shelbyville yesterday morning received a message from Leavenworth, Kan., informing them of the death of Charles B. Duncan. No particulars were given but it is supposed he died suddenlv at the Soldiers Home in Leavenworth, where he had lived for several months. The body will be brought to Shelbyville where the funeral services will be held. The exact time for holdine the services was not known yesterday afternoon. Interment will take place in the I. O. O. F. cemetery beside his wife, who passed away several years ago. Mr. Duncan was about 64 years old. He formerly lived in Shelbyville and was engaged in the jewelry business here for years. About fifteen years ago he sold his interests here and located in Shelbina where he lived for a short time. He after wards moved to Quincy, where he resided until recently. Deceased is a brother of Mrs N. C. Miller of this city, Mrs. J H. Vanskike. northwest of Shelbyville, Mrs. H. B. Dines and Miss Lillie Duncan of Quincy.—Herald. The remains were brought here Thursday evening and taken to Shelbyville the next morning where funeral services and interment were held. Mumpower. Mention of Mr. Duncan's death was made in the Herald last week, but at that time the funeral arrangements had not been made. Out-of-town people who were here for the funeral were Mrs. H. B. Dines and Miss Lillie Duncan of Quincy, George Duncan of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thomas and daughter and Mrs. M. Teachenor of Shelbina.
