Charles Cleat Bagley, the son of Jesse D. and Mary May Bowes Bagley, was born Feb. 17, 1906, on a farm near Superior. He was educated in Nuckolls County schools and farmed with his father during his early years. In 1926, at Hastings, he was united in marriage to Luceil Moss, Nelson. To this union five children were born. Bagley farmed in the Abdal community, died community work and was the director of the school board. He also had a farm shop and died machinery repair for many neighbors in the community. In 1946 he and his family moved to Superior where he was employed by Christensen Farm Equipment Company for a number of years. He was a master mechanic and was well-known for his excellent repair work. In 1951, he formed the Superior Farm Service and had the Massey-Ferguson franchise and for a time carried Case Company parts. After his retirement in 1971, he was employed by Longford Mills for six years. He had been a resident of Superior for 40 years. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Luceil; five children, Mrs. Albert Korthals (Nettie Mae) of Victoria, Texas, Mrs. J.W. Lemon (Barbara) of Wichita, Mrs. Donald Marcotte (Betty) of Fillmore, Calif., Charles D. Bagley of Pasco, Wash., and Richard E. Bagley, Superior; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy E. Bagley, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and many other relatives.
