Description	:	Son of George and Catherine Clink, was born near Greensprings, Sandusky county, Ohio, February 19, 1838, and died at his home, five miles west of Pleasant Lake, Steuben county, Indiana, March 16, 1916, aged 78 years and 26 days. He remained in Ohio until twenty years of age, then came to Steuben county, Indiana, where he became an apprentice at the carpenter's trade. August 25, 1861, he enlisted in Company A, 44th Indiana Infantry. He participated in all the battles of his regiment except Shiloh, when he was on the sick list. He remained in Ohio until twenty years of age, then came to Steuben county, Indiana, where he became an apprentice at the carpenter's trade. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant and served until the close of the war, being discharged Sept. 14, 1865. He was married to Catherine Ritter, Oct. 10, 1967. To this union were born six daughters, two of whom, Laura and Mrs. S.J. Allen, have preceded him in death. In the spring of 1869, Mr. and Mrs. Clink moved to the farm home west of Pleasant Lake, which has since been their continual residence for almost half a century. He leaves the widow, four daughters, Mrs. David Freed, Mrs. Chas. Libey, Mattie and Nellie Clink; five grandchildren, four brothers, a sister and a large circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the home, Sunday, March 19th, at 1 o'clock, Rev. L.W. Love officiating.
