Description	:	CRISFIELD — Charles Clinton Sterling Sr., 92, of Crisfield, a World War I U.S. Army veteran, died Friday in the Tawes Nursing Home here of congestive heart failure. His wife, Pauline L. Sterling, died in 1975. Born here, he was a son of the late James Aaron and Cornelia Wilson Sterling. He was retired from the Crisfield office of Railroad Express and he had also been a seafood processor. Read More	CRISFIELD — Charles Clinton Sterling Sr., 92, of Crisfield, a World War I U.S. Army veteran, died Friday in the Tawes Nursing Home here of congestive heart failure. His wife, Pauline L. Sterling, died in 1975. Born here, he was a son of the late James Aaron and Cornelia Wilson Sterling. He was retired from the Crisfield office of Railroad Express and he had also been a seafood processor. Sterling was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church here, where he was director for 50 years of the Sanctuary Choir. He was a life member of Crisfield's Stanley Cochrane American Legion Post 16 and he also belonged to the American Association of Retired Persons. Surviving are two sons, John Wesley Sterling, Salisbury, and James E. Sterling, Honolulu, Hawaii; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons and a niece. Three late children and the dates of their deaths are Dorothy Sterling, 1929; Charles C. Sterling Jr., 1960, and Julianna S. Todd, 1986. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m,. Tuesday in Asbury Church with the Rev. John Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Sterling Funeral Home here Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. Contributions may be made in the memory of the deceased to Asbury United Methodist Church, or to the Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, both of Crisfield, Md. 21817.
