According to that death record, he was the son of Ezra and Elizabeth Penrod. The informant who gave that information was his wife Julia. This would be Julie Pilcher, who Charles married June 14, 1924, in Lancaster, Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Penrod; one son, Orville Penrod, and two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Hunt and Mrs. Winifred Wyatt [sic]. A former wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Penrod, and one daughter, Jessie Penrod, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Daggett funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. Luther W. Childs, pastor of the Finley Avenue Baptist church. Interment will be made in Shaul cemetery.
