Description	:	WENATCHEE _ Charles E. ''Charlie'' Hanan, 76, a longtime Wenatchee area resident, died Tuesday, March 10, 1992, in his daughter's home, following an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1915, in Malaga to Samuel E. and Anna L. (King) Hanan. He moved with his parents to Twisp at the age of 3, where he received his education. ''Charlie'' Hanan, 76, a longtime Wenatchee area resident, died Tuesday, March 10, 1992, in his daughter's home, following an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1915, in Malaga to Samuel E. and Anna L. (King) Hanan. He moved with his parents to Twisp at the age of 3, where he received his education. He later worked at the Wagner Lumber Mill. He married Dorothy Messer on Aug. 4, 1934, in Wenatchee and they made their home in Port Angeles, where he was employed by the U.S. Forest Service. They later moved to Grand Coulee, where he worked on the construction of Grand Coulee Dam. They moved to Seattle in the 1940s, where he was employed at Boeing in the research department. He and his wife lived in several towns in Washington, Oregon and Arizona before settling in Wenatchee in 1967. The Hanans had the U.S. Mail contract to haul mail from Wenatchee to Winthrop. They continued that business until he semi-retired in 1972. He then operated a small mechanic shop out of his home. Mr. Hanan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wenatchee First Ward, and the Cashmere Masonic Lodge. He was an accomplished organist. Survivors include his wife, at the home; one son, Charles ''Mike'' Hanan, Wenatchee; two daughters, Barbara Taylor, East Wenatchee, and Marilyn Daniels, Eureka, Calif.; one sister, Edith Byram, Twisp; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, is in charge of arrangements.
