She spent the last ten years being cared for by her grandson and family, Craig and Trish Hale. She was born November 10, 1915, in Omak, WA to Orlo B. and Elsie I. (Tedford) Messer. She spent her early years in Omak and Des Moines. She married Charles E. "Charlie" Hanan on August 4, 1934, in Wenatchee. They lived in several towns in Washington, Oregon and Arizona, before settling in Wenatchee in 1967. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved gardening and animals. Her greatest joy was her family. Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wenatchee First Ward. She served as Secretary in Relief Society, Primary and MIA. Her favorite calling was serving as Genealogy Librarian, which she did for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Daniels (Dennis) of Eureka, CA; grandsons, Craig Hale (Trish) of Washington, David Hale (Julie) of Utah, Eddie "Chuck" Lady (Cheryl) of Utah, Victor Taylor of Washington and Donovan Hanan of Washington; granddaughters, Doria Lady of Washington, Trina Williams (Dan) of California and Kim Rocha (Jerry) of California; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hanan; her daughter, Barbara E. Taylor; her son, Charles "Mike" Hanan; grandson, Montie Hale; and one brother and one sister. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1621 Maiden Lane, Wenatchee on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be one hour before Services. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Twisp. Remembrances may be sent to Craig Hale, P.O. Box 1342, McKenna, WA 98558.
