He had been in ill health a year. He was employed by John Deere Ottumwa Works for 16 years prior to his retirement. The son of John P. and Nancy A. His marriage to Mollie M. Howell took place in Ottumwa on Dec. 24, 1914. She survives. He also leaves to sons, Joel D. Stansberry of Marshalltown and Larry L. Stansberry of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Charlene Bever of Salinas, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Chapel where services are tentatively set for Tuesday. "Stansberry Funeral" Notice From "Ottumwa Courier," March 9, 1964: The services for Charles F. L. Stansberry, 71, of 217 W. Williams St., who died Friday at 2:20 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Davis Street Christian Church. The Rev. LaVerne Morris, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Basil Livingston, A.C. Moore, Dewey Tyrrell, Lee Reynolds, Adrian Davis, and Lester Kerby. The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service.
