He formerly resided in Nelson and was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Chapman of Nelson. Charles Frank French was born Nov. 5, 1893 on a farm two and a half miles south of Nelson, the son of David Holmes and Eliza Jane French. He was educated in the Nelson schools. In 1909 he moved to Lincoln with his parents. Frank enlisted in the army of the United States on May 7, 1917, at Fort Logan, Colo., in company with a number of other young men from Nuckolls County. He was discharged Oct. 13, 1919 at Fort Mason, Calif. Frank was employed as a chef in various places throughout this country all of his active working life. Mr. French was baptized in the Christian church (sic) of Nelson. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1, Denver. Mr. French is survived by two brothers, Clyde of Lincoln, and Claude R. of Denver, Colo.; four nephews, and innumerable cousins. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
