Lefley was honored recently on his 84th birthday at the home of his granddaughter Mrs. Douglas Eves. A host of friends called to offer felicitations. Mr. Lefley was born July 22, 1869, in Sheffield, Yorkshire, Enngland. In 1884 he landed in Winnipeg and spent six years there. He married in 1889 and moved to Lethbridge in 1890. Lefley was honored recently on his 84th birthday at the home of his granddaughter Mrs. Douglas Eves. A host of friends called to offer felicitations. Mr. Lefley was born July 22, 1869, in Sheffield, Yorkshire, Enngland. In 1884 he landed in Winnipeg and spent six years there. He married in 1889 and moved to Lethbridge in 1890. He worked in the mines at the river bottom and also in the No. 1 mine for three and a half years. In 1894 he walked from Lethbridge to Great Falls. He worked at Sand Coulee, Montana, until 1901. There he lost his wife who was burnt to death when her clothing caught fire when she stepped on a match. MOVED TO COAST Mr. Lefley then moved the family to Seattle where he worked as a motorman. He came back to Alberta to work in the mines at Coleman and also at Michel, B.C., for a time. In 1919 he came to Milk River to reside with his daughter, Mrs. William Anderson. He had a family of six children. Living are Mrs. Ed Erickson of Great Falls, Mrs. Bill Anderson and Mrs. Howard Leslie of Milk River and a son Robert of Los Angeles. He has 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mr. Lefley at 84 enjoys good health and lives by himself but close to his granddaughter, Mrs. Douglas Eves.
