Born March 9, 1924, in Keokuk, he was the son of Carl and Inez Milligan Klapprott. On May 28, 1949, he married Gloria Whetstone. She died in March 2002. Mr. Klapprott retired from Union Electric Co. He grew up in Keokuk. He served in the Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of the Elks, VFW and American Legion. Read More	Charles George "Buss" Klapprott, 87, of Keokuk died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born March 9, 1924, in Keokuk, he was the son of Carl and Inez Milligan Klapprott. On May 28, 1949, he married Gloria Whetstone. She died in March 2002. Mr. Klapprott retired from Union Electric Co. He grew up in Keokuk. He served in the Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of the Elks, VFW and American Legion. He was a member of American Legion Honor Guard. He was a gifted artist, an archer, a golfer and a small craft pilot. He enjoyed aviation and especially time with family and friends. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Boyd of Keokuk; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Klapprott Jr. of Arlington, Texas and Robert Klapprott of Witchita, Kan.; nieces; and one nephew. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Burial with military rites will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.
