Description	:	From the Anamosa Journal, 9/21/1916 Obituary: Charles H. Preston was born in Hardin County, Ohio near Huntersville, 7/6/1851, and died 9/16/1916. He came to Iowa at the age of three and one half years, where he grew to manhood. On 10/11/1874 he was married to Miss Nancy Smith, also of Ohio. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Rosella "Ella" Kershner of Anamosa, Mrs. Cora Curtis of Atlantic, Iowa, and Albert W. of Anamosa. He came to Iowa at the age of three and one half years, where he grew to manhood. On 10/11/1874 he was married to Miss Nancy Smith, also of Ohio. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Rosella "Ella" Kershner of Anamosa, Mrs. Cora Curtis of Atlantic, Iowa, and Albert W. of Anamosa. Besides his family he leaves to mourn his loss, three brothers, Samuel of Ontario, California, Theodore of Olin, Iowa, and George of Anamosa, and two brothers in law, Geo. Watters, and William Smith. He was converted to untied with the M.E. Church at Hickory Grove Cass Township at the age of 35 years. He had lived a christian life ever since, was a good and faithful husband and father. At the time of his death he was a member of the M. E. Church of this city. Albert later moved and was living in Maquoketa at the time of his mothers death in 1989. Rosella is buried in Wilcox Cemetery in Viola, Iowa and had 2 daughters; Bessie Kershner Anderson, and Lottie Kershner Anderson Soper.
