Description	:	Charles Hamilton Hawn the 4th was the first born child to Woodworth Lent Hawn and Adeline Lu-Lu Metzger,Charles was over nine pounds at birth. Chuck as his friends called him, would tend to get himself into trouble. Including putting a cow in the principals office at the Simpson college where he first went to college. Chuck was very intelligent and the doctor in the town paid for his college until, the world war two broke out. Chuck was very intelligent and the doctor in the town paid for his college until, the world war two broke out. Chuck inlisted and became a ER nurse and he served on two transport ships the usa seabarb and usa kinkaid. He became a sergant in before his honorable discharge in Feb 1846. Some of his training was done at Denver Colorado and Fitzsimmons hosp. This is where he meet my mom June Belle Lane Hawn; a long legged beauty, who was not looking for a relationshp just friendship.They captured each others hearts & they married 30/Jul/1945 in Los Angelos Ca. After the war they moved to Iowa where he held many odd jobs while using the GI bill to pay for school. In 1847 he recieved a B.S. degree from Simpson College. He taught school and became an acting principal. He inlisted in the reserves and also became a student pastor. he then attended Drake University, he was 6 hours away from a masters degree he then transfered to a eden theo college and got his B.D. which is equal to a masters degree.he was 34 yrs old.He became a full ordained methodist minister and served in Iowa ILL, & MInn. He was promoted to chaplain & continued to serve in the army reserves.In 1961 he fell on the ice and broke his ribs and his shoulder. the same yr he was out sleding and, broke his back. The doctors discovered cushins disease. He spent almost a year in a va hospital in minn. He had 12 minors surgeries and 5 major ones. He had to retire from the military and from being a Minister in 1962 due to his health and other issues. The disease progressed and he died 30/Jul/1970 in Rawlins Wyo. He was buried in Riverside shellrock iowa he was moved next to his father in 1982. he was the father of five children. I am the youngest daughter
