However; on the day preceding his death he was much better and there was hope for his recovery. A relapse Monday night was followed by his death at an early hour Tuesday morning. Mr. Snyder was born in Tipton and all his life was spent here with the exception of a few years when he moved to Oklahoma to engage in farming. He was widely known throughout the county and had hundreds of friends who will mourn his death. Funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon. The Masonic lodge of which he was a member went to the house as a body and accompanied the cortege to the cemetery where the Masonic burial service was given. Charles H. Snyder, son of Joseph K. Snyder and Amanda Snyder, was born in Tipton Oct. 10, 1862, and died at his home on the morning of Feb. 10, 1920 aged fifty seven years and four months. He has for many years been appointed in the affairs of the town. His father was one of those who plotted the town. He united with the Presbyterian church of Tipton, Feb. 25, 1891. He was a member of three orders in Tipton; the Masons, the Woodmen, and the Knights of Pythias, in the later two in which he had been thru the chairs. He was married to Lucy Clark May 15, 1889. To this union were born two sons; Joseph Charles and Howard Clark, both of Tipton, and two daughters; Hazel Snyder and Mrs. Edith Mallory; both of Washington..Besides these there remain to mourn his loss, his wife, his mother Mrs. Amanda Snyder; two grandchildren, Eloise and Lawrence Mallory of Washington, Ia; two brothers George Snyder of Tipton and F.C. Snyder of Moline, Ill; two sisters Mrs. J.W. Gillmore of Tipton and Mrs. David Innes; of Tipton, and a host of other relatives and friends. [Transcriber note] I am not related in any way.
