Description	:	Charles Henry Hoyt was born in Danbury, Connecticut, October 2, 1836. The family moved to Milan, Ohio, where he spent his boyhood days. He was married to Frances Martin and afterwards moved to Kansas and settled in Parsons in 1873 and worked at the blacksmith trade, afterwards moved to Emporia and from there to a farm on Duck Creek in 1878 where he lived until about fifteen months ago when he came to Admire to be cared for at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Symmonds. He was perfectly helpless but was given... Read More	Charles Henry Hoyt was born in Danbury, Connecticut, October 2, 1836. The family moved to Milan, Ohio, where he spent his boyhood days. He was married to Frances Martin and afterwards moved to Kansas and settled in Parsons in 1873 and worked at the blacksmith trade, afterwards moved to Emporia and from there to a farm on Duck Creek in 1878 where he lived until about fifteen months ago when he came to Admire to be cared for at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Symmonds. He was perfectly helpless but was given every attention that love and skill could contribute. He departed from this life on Thursday, November 4th aged seventynine years, one month and two days. The funeral was held in the Symmonds home Saturday morning. Rev. Cannan preached the sermon. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Geo McDaniel, Hazel Hamble, Flossie Romesburg and Rev. C.F. Cannon. The body was laid to rest in the Duck Creek cemetery. The departed left two sons Ed Hoyt and Frank Hoyt, three daughters, Mrs. L.L. Symmonds, Mrs. Ella McIlvain and Mrs. Cora McIlvain, also one sister, Mrs. Eliza Gardner of York, Nebraska and twenty-five grandchildren.
