Death Summons Oyens Realtor Charles Masuen, Life Long Resident Charles Masuen, 58,life long resident of Plymouth county and well know real estate dealer, died late Monday after-noon at his home in Oyens. He had been in failing health some time suffering from an internal malady. Mr. Masuon was born at Le Mars September 6, 1880, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Masuen, who were pioneers in this community. He received his early education in the parochial and country schools and when a boy assisted oil the farm. He was married fo Mary Ruden, February 6, 1906, the ceremony taking place at St. Catherine's church in Oyens. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Masuen farmed for a year and then operated a general merchandise store in Oyens for thirteen years. For the past nineteen years Mr. Masuen was engaged in insurance and real estate business. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, five sons and four daughters: Lawrence, Alois, Ray,Richard, Ervan, Mrs. Ray Schroeder, Lorraine, Dolores and Marita, his mother, Mrs. Henry Masuen of Le Mars, and many other relatives. One daughter, Florence, preceded him in death. The funeral was held Thursday morning in St. Catherine's church in Oyens, Rev. Father Henry Rolfes officiating and interment made in St. Catherine's cemetery. Mr. Masuen has a wide acquaintance in northwest Iowa and was an energetic worker in his business and active in the life of the community where he spent his life. Martin, Mrs. Phil Young, Mrs. Fred Schmidt, Mrs. Celeste Masuen and Mr. and Mrs. Art Majeres all of Sioux City; Lewis Jungers of Hospers; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wolff and sons, Mike and Nick, of West Bend; John and Raymond Scheuring of Beresford, S. D.; Herman Benner of Granville; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ostert of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Alesch and Mr. and Mrs. Garvin of Marcus, and Mr. and Mrs. William Cross and daughter, Jeanne, of Dubuque.
