Lorraine Ann Masuen was born Dec. 7, 1916, at Oyens to Charles and Lena Ruden Masuen. She attended magna cum laude from Morningside college in 1974. She had lived the past 28 years at Kingsley and in Le Mars prior to that. Mrs. Becker was president of the Eight til Late Club, and a member of the Federated Women's club of Le Mars. She was a cub scout den mother at Kingsley, a circle leader at St. James parish in Le Mars, president of the St. Michael's church guild and a circle leader lectran. She was vice grand regent and grand regent of the Catholic Daughters of America at Kingsley. She sang in the St. Michael's church choir for 27 years, member of the Kingsley public library board, and was librarian at the Lawton-Bronson community schools the last several years. She also had worked for one year at Westmar college in the library. Her marriage to Dale Becker took place June 20, 1940, at Oyens. A memorial is being established in Mrs. Becker's name for the Kingsley public library. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic church, Kingsley, with Father Gerald Fisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine's cemetery, Oyens, under the direction of the Michaelson funeral home, Kingsley. CDA rosary will be at 4 p.m. Friday and a scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, both at the funeral home. Survivors are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Lena Masuen, Le Mars; two sons, Brian, Houston, Tex., and Rick, Sioux Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Deanna) Anderson, Boulder, Colo., two sisters, Mrs. William (Delores) Heissel, Le Mars, and Mrs. John (Rita) Shearon, Le Mars; four brothers, Al, Raymond and Richard (Dick), all of Le Mars, and Ervan (Bud) of Lancaster, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother and two sisters.
