Description	:	The funeral for Charles H. Tipler is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Palouse Federated Church. Pastors Corey Laughary and Kathy Kramer will officiate. Cremation will follow and the ashes buried in the Oakesdale Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Tipler died of causes related to age early Friday morning, Nov. 26, 2004, at Latah Health Services in Moscow, one day shy of his 95th birthday. He was born Nov. 27, 1909, at Farmington, Wash., to Henry and Franc Payne Tipler. His mother died when Charles was 8 months of age, and he was raised by his grandparents, the Paynes. He attended school at the Fairview Country School and the Silver Creek School, later graduating from Garfield High School in 1928. It took Charles five years to complete high school because of the need for him to help out on the family farm due to his father's injury. He married Wanda R. Mustard, a resident of Oakesdale, June 24, 1934. The couple moved in 1942 to a farm on the West Cove Road in Latah County, where they farmed and raised cattle and Chester White hogs. The ranch was known as the Tipler Palouse Ranch. Wanda died in 1965. He married Dorcas Imler Sept. 15, 1967, at Palouse, and they lived at the Tipler Palouse Ranch until 1993, when they moved to Palouse. The couple later moved to Bishop Place in Pullman and then to Latah Health Services. After Charles retired from farming, he worked for the J.E. Love Co. at Garfield. He also drove grain truck during harvest for Holland Boone for many years. He was an active member of the Palouse Grange and a member of the Palouse Federated Church, the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge. The family said if they were to sum up Charles' life, they would do it using these five words: Family, Farm, Faith, Fishing and Friends. Lewiston Tribune November 30, 2004
