Description	:	Information gleaned from the naturalization file for Charles indicates he was born in Yorkshire County, England, in 1769. He left Byland Highwoods in the parish of Coxwald, Yorkshire, for a new life in the United States in 1831. He departed from Liverpool on May 16 and arrived in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 20 with sons Charles Jr., William, John and Mathew. It isn't clear when wife, Elizabeth, arrived, but it was likely at the same time. He made his way to Franklin County, Indiana, where he applied for land on September 21, 1831. He departed from Liverpool on May 16 and arrived in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 20 with sons Charles Jr., William, John and Mathew. It isn't clear when wife, Elizabeth, arrived, but it was likely at the same time. He made his way to Franklin County, Indiana, where he applied for land on September 21, 1831. That deed for that property was recorded on March 5, 1832. Charles was naturalized on September 5, 1832 at the aged of 63. Charles Jr. and William were naturalized at the same time, with John and Mathew following in 1837. It is said that the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, at some time in 1833. It is claimed that Charles died in Sharpton, Franklin County, Indiana, in late 1833, apparently between September 11 and October 4, the dates of the will and the presentation to the court. It is also claimed that wife, Elizabeth, who died in July, 1833, also did so in Sharpton. That makes the timeline of a move to Ohio, and apparently back to Indiana, a bit uncertain. From the estate inventory, it appears that Charles was a hog farmer. In addition to three mares and a colt, two cows and a heifer, and a yoke of oxen, forty-five hogs were also listed. [Much of this information provided by Mary Ann Bumgarner] Charles is said to e the son of Thomas Hutchinson born 23 Jun 1714 in North Yorkshire, England. His death and burial information remains unknown as of 9/6/2019.
