He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church of Sweden, educated in a Christian home and school and confirmed in the Christian faith as confessed in the Lutheran church. At an early age he immigrated to America and located in Marshalltown, moving later to Stratford and he had made his home here on a farm southeast of Stratford for 52 years. Read More	Stratford Courier January 5, 1928 Charles John Lindmark Charles John Lindmark was born in Östergötland, Sweden, May 14, 1840. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church of Sweden, educated in a Christian home and school and confirmed in the Christian faith as confessed in the Lutheran church. At an early age he immigrated to America and located in Marshalltown, moving later to Stratford and he had made his home here on a farm southeast of Stratford for 52 years. During the last years of his life, deceased had been living with his son Ernest. After an illness of but a short time he died on December 19, 1927, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 5 days. The immediate cause of his death was dropsy which coupled with his advanced age hastened the end. He leaves to mourn his passing five children. They are: Mrs. Tony Frederickson, of Stratford, Mrs. Coy Smith, Wells, Minn., Arthur, Emory and Ernest, all of Stratford. Two brothers, Herman and Oscar, of near Boone, also survive as well as seven grandchildren. His wife and one daughter have preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the family home southeast of Stratford on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 22, and were conducted by Rev. Gunnar Goransson, pastor of the Lutheran church. Rev. Wm. Bottom, A.T. Johnson, Sam Swedlund and L.M. Peterson rendered three beautiful quartettes. Interment services took place in the Hardin township cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to express our appreciation and thanks to all who sent flowers, and to those who sang at the funeral, and who so kindly extended their help and sympathy during the death and burial of our father.
