Description	:	John Hennes and Carrie Rosman were married April 9, 1907. John died January 16, 1916 of typhoid fever at age 31, leaving Carrie a widow at 30 years of age. Carrie died January 25, 1956. Sr. Inez (Viola), born September 14, 1909, graduated from Defiance Public School in 1927 and at the age of 20, entered Convent in the Order of School Sisters of St. Francis. She taught primary grades in Wisconsin for 45 years, now is retired and living in Motherhouse, St. Joseph's Convent, Milwaukee. John, born May 1, 1911, died February 23, 1976 and was a farm worker. Elmer, born February 5, 1913, graduated from St. Paul's High in 1931. He was Vice President of Federal Reserve Bank, Omaha, and now semi-retired. He married Helen Feldman on September 18, 1940; two children: Viola (married and has four children) and Sister Donna Jean (a Notre Dame Nun working at Indian Missions in South Dakota). Helen, Elmer's wife, died June 7, 1946. Elmer married Ann Oleg on September 6, 1947. They live in Omaha. Irene died at eight months. Caroline, born May 12, 1916, graduated from St. Paul's, Defiance, in 1934. Caroline married John T. Lyons, an attorney, November 22, 1942; two children: James J. and Mary Theresa. Caroline is a piano and organ teacher and a mural painter. They live in Omaha. Caroline's son, James, an attorney, works in the Dept. of Education, Washington, D.C. Her daughter, Mary, has a master's degree in history and is executive secretary for St. Vincent de Paul Society, Omaha. John Hennes farmed then moved his family to Defiance, and shortly before he died, he bought the Defiance Implement. Carrie hired Charlie Hannon to run the shop for the next four years and then sold it. Carrie spent her later years in Omaha, working as a housekeeper for several priests.
