Severns was born near Brockton, Iowa, February 23, 1885, and died in Fairmont, January 7, 1906, aged twenty years, ten months and fourteen days. Read More	Charles Kelso Severns, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Severns was born near Brockton, Iowa, February 23, 1885, and died in Fairmont, January 7, 1906, aged twenty years, ten months and fourteen days. At the age of fifteen, he moved with his parents to Fillmore county, Nebraska, where he has since made his home. More than a year ago that dread disease, consumption, fastened itself upon him. All that love and skill could do for his recovery was done, yet without avail. Last May he went with his parents to Montana in the hope that a change of climate would prove beneficial. He was, however, soon compelled to return. An overland trip was attempted in August, but he got no farther than the western part of the state until heavy rains and cooler weather again necessitated his return. He grew gradually worse, and on last Saturday morning began to fail rapidly. The end came about 9:30 o'clock Sabbath morning. He was the youngest, save one, of a family of nine children. There mourn his loss, a devoted father and mother, seven brothers, one sister and a large circle of friends. The funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. M.C. Brooks officiating, assisted by Rev. McConaughy. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. The floral offerings were numerous, one especially handsome wreath being the contribution of his associates among the young men of the city.
