Description	:	Walter G. Severns, son of J.R. and Florence Severns was born near Blockton, Ia., April 5, 1883, and passed away in Los Angeles, California, May 12, 1943, at the age of 60 years, one month and seven days. In 1900 he came with the family to Fairmont, where they located on a farm. After graduating from the Fairmont high school, he was employed for a number of years as a clerk in the L. Brown store. Severns, son of J.R. and Florence Severns was born near Blockton, Ia., April 5, 1883, and passed away in Los Angeles, California, May 12, 1943, at the age of 60 years, one month and seven days. In 1900 he came with the family to Fairmont, where they located on a farm. After graduating from the Fairmont high school, he was employed for a number of years as a clerk in the L. Brown store. He left Fairmont some years ago, eventually locating in Los Angeles where he was employed in an aluminum plant at the time of his death. Near relatives who survive his passing are: U.S. Severns of Palisade, Nebr., A.E. Severns of Seattle, Wash., E.T. Severns of Louisburg, Mo., and W.E. Severns of Encampment, Wyo. He is also remembered by many other relatives and friends. Three brothers, Benjamin, Charles and Clyde; and one sister, formerly Mrs. W.J. Sloan, of Geneva, Neb. have preceded him in death. He was a man generous to a fault, and well liked by his friends and neighbors, especially good to his parents, with whom he lived while in Fairmont. Funeral services were held in the Fairmont Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon, May 19, with Rev. R.W. Sandsted officiating. Two solos were sung by Oliver Moul, with Mrs. A.A. Ashby at the organ. Interment in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearers were D.W. Stephenson, Conrad Cook, Harry Carson, Dr. M.M. Akin, Lee Marget, and Valti Capes.
