Description	:	Charles L. "Chuck" Barger, 92, of Hillsboro died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Heartland of Hillsboro. He was born Tuesday, June 29, 1920 in Hillsboro, the son of the late L. Grover and Achsah J. Stuckey Barger. Mr. Barger was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, Hillsboro Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 361 and had been a member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club since 1947 and had received the Paul Harris Award by the Rotary Club. "Chuck" Barger, 92, of Hillsboro died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Heartland of Hillsboro. He was born Tuesday, June 29, 1920 in Hillsboro, the son of the late L. Grover and Achsah J. Stuckey Barger. Mr. Barger was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, Hillsboro Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 361 and had been a member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club since 1947 and had received the Paul Harris Award by the Rotary Club. He had served on Hillsboro City Council and the Hillsboro Hospital Board. He had operated Automotive Service and Supply with his father-in-law, A.D. Phillips until Mr. Phillips' death in 1976. He continued to own and operate the business until his retirement in 1993. He had also worked with his father at the Hillsboro Lumber Company from 1946-56. He had graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1938 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1943 with his degree in electrical engineering. He had served in the Pacific theater during World War II and was discharged at the end of the war in 1946 after attaining the rank of Captain. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Phillips Barger; three sons; two grandsons, of Midland, Mich.; one brother, of Sarasota, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a friend and caregiver, Ann, of Leesburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Adaline Hartman and Dorothy Noftsger Gall. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Derek Russell will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
