Description	:	Robert L. Barger, 91, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home in Florida. He was born Jan. 14, 1923 in Hillsboro, the son of the late L.G. and Achsah Stuckey Barger. Mr. Barger was the owner and operator of the Hillsboro Lumber Company for many years. He was a life member of the Hillsboro Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 361, Sarasota Elks Lodge, Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161, Oakwood shuffleboard team and had been a Hillsboro volunteer fireman for 25 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frump Barger, on July 19, 1978; one brother, Charles Barger; and two sisters, Dorothy Gall and Adaline Hartman. Mr. Barger requested that he be cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Manor Shuffle Court, 330 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, Fla. 34237; or Tidewell Hospice Philanthropy Dept., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
