Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Buchanan church by Rev. Walter Martin. Interment was in the Woodbridge cemetery. An ambitious and esteemed life is the record of Charles Laubscher, who was born to John and Philipine Stork Laubscher on the 26 of February 1852 at "The Homestead" south of Buchanan. An ambitious and esteemed life is the record of Charles Laubscher, who was born to John and Philipine Stork Laubscher on the 26 of February 1852 at "The Homestead" south of Buchanan. Here he was baptized and reared in the Lutheran faith. With two brothers, John and Alfred, three sisters, Susan, Anna and Ella, he grew to maturity. Charles acquired his education in the schools of Cedar county after which he chose farming as a vocation and in this his perseverance and integrity willed him success. On the 7th of November 1878, he was united in married to Forrestine Dodds and they were privileged to share 61 years of this happy union. To them were born two sons, Frank Raymond and John Phillips, both of this community. Mr. Laubscher carried on active farming interests until 1904 when he retired to Buchanan. Here he became well known throughout the community, where his sterling traits of character won him a circle of friends and acquaintances. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Frank, John and wife Pearl Edward Laubscher, two grand-daughters, Eloise and Marjorie and one sister, Ella Burroughs of Greeley, Colorado.
