DENNIS PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Complications of illness from which he had suffered for five weeks, were fatal to Charles Dennis, and he passed away about midnight Wednesday, at the hospital here. Mr. Dennis was brought to the hospital some weeks ago, in a serious condition resulting from a ruptured appendix. An operation was performed, and for several days his condition was critical. DENNIS PASSES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Complications of illness from which he had suffered for five weeks, were fatal to Charles Dennis, and he passed away about midnight Wednesday, at the hospital here. Mr. Dennis was brought to the hospital some weeks ago, in a serious condition resulting from a ruptured appendix. An operation was performed, and for several days his condition was critical. He rallied however, and recovered sufficiently to return to his home, although he was not well. Three days later he was again brought back to the hospital, and two weeks ago a second operation was performed in hopes of relieving the condition, and ultimately give back his health. His physical condition, however. Was such that he could not respond to treatment, although for a time it was thought he would recover. Funeral services will probably be held at St. Lawrence Saturday. At the time of writing no arrangements had been made. The deceased was a middle-aged man, having been born in Eldon, Ia., August 12th, 1873. He was married to Miss Lizzie Wake, and later the family came from Iowa to South Dakota, locating in Burdette township. They have been residents of this county for about twenty years. A year and a half ago, Mr. Dennis disposed of his farm interests and since that time has conducted a restaurant at St. Lawrence Surviving his death are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Calkins and three sons, Earl, Beryl and Garland. His aged mother, Mrs. Mary Dennis of Miller, and three brothers, Lloyd of Miller, John of St. Lawrence and George of Iroquois also survive.
