Read More	Charles Lee Watson of Fairmont passed away at York Friday, November 3, 1972, at the age of 74 years and 2 months. Lee, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Watson, was born August 27, 1898, at Fairmont. He graduated from Fairmont high school in 1915. He farmed during the time his brother, Frank served in the Army, then he attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and received his degree from the University of Nebraska in 1924. He taught school for nine years. In 1927 he was united in marriage to Clara M. Anderson at Ainsworth, Neb. In 1932 they moved to the farm where he was born and continued farming until his retirement in the spring of 1972. Lee was a member of the United Methodist church more than 50 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Fairmont and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters and one nephew. He is survived by his wife, Clara, his brother, Frank H. and wife of Fairbury; a nephew, Richard Watson and wife of Lincoln, three nieces, Laura Jane Koontz and husband of Kearney, Martha Lee Brown and husband of Omaha and Dorothy Gaither of Willmington, N.C.; an uncle, Harry Bergstrand of York; a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist church in Fairmont at 2 p.m., Monday, November 6, with Rev. Josephine Scahill officiating. Mrs. Tom Boyer, accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Galusha, organist, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden." Pallbearers were Orville Hafer, Dick Manning, Albert Simacek, Fred Slepicka, Leslie Stephenson and Steven Wythers. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery.
