Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, March 17, 1927; pg. 1 Charles Leeds was born in Ohio, February 4, 1855; died at Nelson Nebraska, March 12, 1927, aged 72 years, 1 month and 8 days. When three years old his parents moved to Indiana, where they lived until 1879, when they moved to Nebraska, locating near Guide Rock. He united with the United Brethren church at a little sod school house eight miles north of Guide Rock a few years after coming to Nebraska. The family moved to near the present site of Lawrence, where they made their home for several years. While living in this vicinity the mother passed to her eternal home. From that time Charlie made a home for his father later coming to Nelson, where they lived until the father died a few years ago. Since that time Charlie has made his home alone in the little house occupied by he and his father for so many years. He leaves to mourn his death three brothers: George of Hastings, J.F. and Ed Leeds of Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Houghton L. and William, also one sister, Mrs. Geo. Shelton. The funeral service was held in the Nelson Methodist church (sic) Sunday, March 13, 1927, at two o'clock with sermon by the pastor, Vincent R. Beebe, and singing by a quartet: Mrs. Bardsley, Mrs. Mahaffey, Mr. Hedgcock and Mr. Warren Hall. The body was laid to rest in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
