Description	:	Charles L. Crookham died at his home in Winfield, Kansas, Wednesday June 30, 1909 at 9:45 a.m., of cancer of the stomach, aged 46 years, eight months and 15 days. Read More	Charles L. Crookham died at his home in Winfield, Kansas, Wednesday June 30, 1909 at 9:45 a.m., of cancer of the stomach, aged 46 years, eight months and 15 days. Mr. Crookham had been an invalid for several years. Charles L. Crokham was born at Circleville, Ohio, but when a small boy came with his parents to Greenwood county, Kansas, His mother, Mrs. Mary J. Crookham, died at her home in this county, April 20, 1909. His father, O.C. Crookham, was one of the early settlers of Batchelor township. When a young man just out of school Mr. Crookham located at South Haven, Kansas, and for several years engaged in the banking business at that place. A few years ago he removed to Winfield where he continued in the banking business and at the time of his death was vice-president of the State Bank of Winfield. Mr. Crookham was married to Constance Wiggins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiggins, formerly of this county. Mrs. Crookham, two sons and one daughter of Winfield; one brother, John Crookham and three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Knudson, Mrs. M.B. Wyant and Mrs. John Willis, all of this county survive Mr. Crookham. The body will arrive in Eureka at 5 o'clock this afternoon, and funeral services, conducted by Dr. I.C. Paugh, passtor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, will be held here at the home of J.M. Wiggins at 8:30 tomarrow morning. Interment will be in the Greenwood cemetery. From Eureka Herald 1 July 1909 page 1.
