Description	:	Charles Ludvig Eden, son of Mr and Mrs Samuel Eden, was born in Smoland, Sweden, July 13, 1866 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Wesley Glasgow, on March 18, 1953, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 5 day. He was united in marriage to Augusta Jonson at Essex, Iowa, May 9, 1892, who preceded him in death in November of 1917. To this union were born four sons and three daughter: three son and one daughter preceding their father's passing. He was united in marriage to Augusta Jonson at Essex, Iowa, May 9, 1892, who preceded him in death in November of 1917. Those surviving are Luther of Hepburn, Ia; Alice Van Horn of Greeley, Colo, and Julia Glasgow of New Market. He is also survived by one sister of Clarinda, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr Eden came to America at the age of 18 years. He followed the occupation of farming, having settled on a farm east of Hepburn, from which he retired some years ago. He attended the public schools in his native country where he had to walk as far as 20 miles to school. He also studied English in America. He united with the Swedish Lutheran church in Sweden and later transferred his membership to the United Presbyterian church at Hepburn. His knowledge of the scripture brought him great comfort during the last days of his earthly life. Services were conducted from the Walker Funeral Home at 2 pm Friday March 20, 1953, with Rev I.E. Stickelman in charge. Music was by Aletha Hutchings and Doris Forbes. Flower bearers were: Doris Fulk, Alice Eden, Maxie Eden, Robbie Sue Eden, Virginia Smalley and Maxine Shepherd,. Casket bearers were: Lyle Fulk, Carroll Eden, Burdell Eden, Floyd Davis, Clarence Smalley, and Wesley Shepherd. Burial was in North Page cemetery.
