Description	:	It is with great sadness, that the family of Marshall Stephenson of Cranbrook, B.C., announce his unexpected passing on May 12th, 2021 in Kelowna, B.C., at the age of 58. Marshall was born in Edmonton, AB. He was adopted by Mervyn and Helen "Elfreida" (Fenton) Stephenson and raised in Fort McMurray, AB. Read More	It is with great sadness, that the family of Marshall Stephenson of Cranbrook, B.C., announce his unexpected passing on May 12th, 2021 in Kelowna, B.C., at the age of 58. Marshall was born in Edmonton, AB. He was adopted by Mervyn and Helen "Elfreida" (Fenton) Stephenson and raised in Fort McMurray, AB. His wife Tania used to tell him how lucky he was to have been adopted as he was "Chosen" and that they must have loved him very much. Marshall was living in Cold Lake, AB where he met Tania Symonds whom he married in May of 1989. Marshall took up Long Haul driving in 1994 and continued to Long Haul to the end. It was a job that gave him the ability to move wherever the Military took the family. Growing up, Marshall was very athletic and was good at everything he tried, as he gave it 110%. As he got older, all he wanted was to play hockey and be in the NHL. He did play in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks but due to a back injury could not continue to play. Marshall loved hockey especially the Edmonton Oilers and could talk about hockey for hours. He and his long-time friend Dave Preville (also a driver) would keep each other company on the phone while on the road. Marshall was predeceased by his parents Mervyn and Helen "Elfreida" Stephenson, his sister Tannis Stephenson and his biological mother Dorothy Wildman. Marshall had a large extended family, and many friends, he will be remembered by his wife of 32 years Tania Symonds, daughters Alisha and Kalyn of Cranbrook, his sons Conor of Cranbrook and Brandon Hogg of Edmonton, his sister Catherine Wiebe (Ron) of Chilliwack and brother Eldon Stephenson (Tanya) of Kelowna. Marshall had 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grand daughter. Marshall will be interred with his parents in Irma, AB and there will be a plaque placed at the Serenity Gardens at Westlawn Cemetery in Cranbrook, B.C.
