(Funeral details followed) Charles Monroe Dollarhide, son of John S. and Lydia O. Dollarhide, was born at Buffalo, Iowa July 24, 1870 and passed away at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Grand Island March 14, 1954 at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 18 days. He was baptized in infancy in the Methodist church in Muscatine, Iowa. He came to Nebr with his parents in 1879 and settled on a farm near Wolbach. He has been a resident of Wolbach since 1896. Mr. Dollarhide was an auctioneer and veterinarian in Wolbach and vicinity for many years. Upon retiring from auctioneering he was Pure food Inspector for two terms for the State of Nebraska. After his active duties he was a resident of Wolbach until age and ill health forced his retirement when he made his home at the Soldiers and Sailors Home at Grand Island. Mr. Dollarhide and Winfred Crosby were married at Central City, Nebr October 16th, 1909. To this union one son, Carl, was born June 22, 1910. He was preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, five brothers, and a foster sister. Surviving are his son, Carl; one daughter-in-law Helen; two grandsons, David and John; four nephews; and four nieces and host of other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and uncle and was a good friend to all who knew him. He was a 50 year member of St. Paul Lodge A.F.&A.M., a member of Tangier Temple of the Shrine and a member of the 2nd Nebraska volunteers in the Spanish American War. (List of out-of-town attendees followed.) ~~~ A death notice in the Palmer Journal, March 18, 1954, indicated his son Carl was living in Denver.
