Moore was born at Grahamsville, Sullivan county, New York, January 9, 1847, and died June 28, 1927, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Harter, at Aurora, Nebraska, having attained the age of eighty years, five months and nineteen days. Moore was born at Grahamsville, Sullivan county, New York, January 9, 1847, and died June 28, 1927, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Harter, at Aurora, Nebraska, having attained the age of eighty years, five months and nineteen days. He was the youngest of a family of twelve children and the last one to be laid to rest. He was married in 1876 to Martha Van Blaricom. To this union nine children were born, one son, Chester, having preceded him in death during the World War. Five of the children were able to be with him in his last illness. Mr. Moore came to Archer fourteen years ago and had lived there continuously since, until the last three months of his life, which he spent with his daughter in Aurora. Funeral services were held in Aurora, the Rev. W. P. Hill of the Christian church officiating and interment was made in the Central City cemetery. Mr. Moore will be greatly missed in his home community, where he was known as the soul of honor, and a man who was always ready to do his part for the advancement of the community.
