Scott Tribune-Monitor It was with deep sorrow that the friends of Mr. Delbert Jones heard of his death, which occurred Tuesday morning at the Fort Scott Hospital. Although Mr. Jones had been in poor health for several months his friends and relatives did not realize that the end was so near. He leaves a wife and two sons, Carme and Amel, besides an aged mother, two brothers and one sister. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the M. E. Chruch at Uniontown. A choir consisting of Mrs. Dr. Miller; Mrs. Anna Cowan, Miss Ola Street, Miss Josephine Abbott, George Cowan, John Hartman, Fred Clark and Earl Konantz with Mr. Read accompanying, sand "Beautiful Isle," "Old Rugged Cross" and "God Be With You." The funeral was conducted by Rev. June Weir and interment was made in Uniontown cemetery. The church was filled with sympathizing friends and neighbors and there was a beautiful array of choice flowers. Mr. Jones had lived for many years in the Poplar Grove neighborhood and was a man much respected and loved by all and will be greatly missed by a large circle of relatives and friends. All extend sympathy to the family in their sorrow. *********************** Ft. Scott Tribune-Monitor This community was completely shocked Monday morning by the news of the death of Delbert Jones, a well-known resident of this community. Mr. Jones had been in poor health for sometime and was finally induced to enter the hospital last Saturday, where it was learned he was suffering from carcinoma. His death occurred Monday morning about four o'clock. Mr. Jones was born at Blue Mound, April 23, 1873, and was 54 years, six months and two days of age. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy P. (A) Jones; two sons, Carme Jones and Amel Jones and two grandchildren, also two brothers, Fred Jones, of Mapleton, and Elmon Jones; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Officer Emmett, Idaho. The funeral was held this afternoon from the Methodist church and was one of the largest in many months. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
