JONES The funeral of Mrs. Nancy Jones was held Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock at the M. E. church, which was filled with many sympathizing neighbors and friends. There were many beautiful floral tokens of love and sympathy. On the casket was a sheaf of gladaoli inscribed, "Mother"; a bloc from mother, brother and sisters, sprays from Devon State Bank, Poplar Grove friends and personal tokens. A quartet composed of Mrs. Ed Holt, Mrs. Ben Turner, Robt. Read and Earl Konantz sang Rock of Ages, Going Down the Valley and In The Sweet Bye and Bye, accompanied by Mrs. Ola Read. The service was conducted by Miss Jean Weis, of the Christ's Faith Church, of Elmo, Kansas. She read the 90th psalm and took as her theme II Cor., 5:1. Miss Weir paid tribute to the beautiful Christian life of Mrs. Jones and the sweet fellowship she had enjoyed with her. She was devoted to her home and family and her life will be a blessed memory to them and to her friends. Mrs. Jones was born at Farlington, October 18, 1873. She was married to C. D. Jones Sept. 3, 1895 , who passed away five years ago. Surviving are two sons, C. E. Jones and A. R. Jones of Uniontown; one brother A. W. Kerlee, of Uniontown; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mead, Westwood, Cal., and Mrs. Josephine Holt, of Arma, Kansas, also her aged mother, Mrs. Rebecca Kerlee, of Arma. She also leaves two grandsons, Charles Lewis and Bobby Gordon Jones, of Uniontown. Interment was made in the Uniontown cemetery beside her husband. Pallbearers were H. W. Atkisson, J. W. Eastwood, W. L. Willis, Roy Willis, C. E. West and Ernest Brown. Out of town relatives to attend the funeral were Mrs. Rebecca Kerlee and Mr. and Mrs. George Holt, of Arma. ************************ Nancy Ann Kerlee was born October 18, 1873 at Farlington, Kansas, the daughter of William and Rebecca Kerlee, and departed this life September 18, 1933 at Fort Scott, Kansas, age 59 years and 11 months, after several months illness of heart trouble. She was united in marriage to Charles Delbert Jones September 3, 1895 at Pittsburg, Kansas. To this union was born three children, the eldest dying in infancy. Left to mourn her loss are two sons Carme E., of Uniontown and Amel R. of the home address, two grandsons Charles Lewis and Robert Gordon, her mother Mrs. Kerlee of Arma, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mead of Westwood, California, Mrs. Josephine Holt of Arma, Ks., and one brother G. W. Kerlee of Uniontown. Her husband preceded her in death six years ago.
