He was born August 3, 1901 in Russell, Kansas to the late John A. and Margaret Decker of Oskaloosa, Kansas. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and American Legion, all of Frankfort and Fostoria Masonic Lodge No 392 AF & AM He leaves his wife, Ruth (Alexander)Decker of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Alvis (Esther L.) Shaw of Collins, Iowa;four sons, Benner A. Decker, of Spencer,Iowa; Charles R. Decker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Harold R. Decker of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Giles O. Decker of Cambell, California; six granddaughters, six grandsons, two great-grandsons and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Colescott of Topeka Kansas and Mrs. Dorothy Alexander of Valley Falls, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 29, 1973 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Frankfort, Kansas with Reverend Wayne Feuerbacher officiating. Music for the services was by Mrs. Anna Forgy at the organ, who accompanied Charles Decker, who sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art" by Benner Decker, sons of the deceased. Serving as pallbearers were four Grandsons, Paul Decker, David, Decker, Bill Decker, and Steven Decker and the Husbands of two granddaughters, Jim McHenry and John Jensen. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. At the Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Kansas.
