At the time of his death he was 91 years, 7 months and 23 days of age. Stanley Dymek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dymek, was born July 1, 1845 in Mlynkawa, Poland, where he spent his boyhood and received his schooling. In 1869, he was married to Miss Pauline Siwinski. He sailed alone for America in 1880 and made his home in Momence, Ill., where he was employed by the railroad. In 1881, his wife and son Frank joined him. They moved to Arcadia, Nebr. in 1886 and lived on a farm for three years after which they came to Ashton to live on a farm south of town. One June 9, 1906, his wife passed away. In 1908 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Kathleen Bogatz, who proceeded him in death 16 years, having died in 1920. Mr. Dymek lived alone in Ashton until two years ago when he was taken ill. He then made his home with his youngest daughter, Mrs. Tom Polski. He has been bedfast for the past year. Three sons who also preceded him in death were: John, who died in infancy, George, who died Feb. 8, 1935 and Steve, who died in 1931; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Mendyk, died May 14, 1914. Besides four children, Frank of Rockville, Stanley of Ashton, Mrs. Martha Kochanowski of Columbus and Mrs. Bernice Polski of Ashton, he leaves to mourn his 32 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a number of friends. Funeral services were held at St. Francis church, Monday morning, Jan. 27th at 10 o'clock with Rev. Constantine Szumski officiating. Interment was made in St. Francis cemetery. Four grandsons were pall bearers: Lambert, Leonard, Albert and Daniel Dymek. The Sherman County Times - Jan 1936 Contributor: Diane (47528261)
