Mr. McCray was born July 18, 1936 in Mayo, Fla., to the late Lester and Lela (Jackson) McCray. Mr. McCray was of the Christian Faith and attended the Alton Church of God. Read More	Charles Wayman McCray July 18, 1936 March 17, 2013 Charles Wayman McCray, 76, of Mayo, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Malcom Randall V.A. Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.. Mr. McCray was born July 18, 1936 in Mayo, Fla., to the late Lester and Lela (Jackson) McCray. Mr. McCray was of the Christian Faith and attended the Alton Church of God. He was a veteran of the United States Army and where he served from 1957-1959 as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. He worked as both a farmer and barber for many years and was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and pickin' guitar with his grandchildren. Mr. McCray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dwala L. Land McCray, of Mayo, Fla., 2 sons, Todd McCray, and wife Kristi, of Gainesville, and Tommy McCray, and wife Christy, of Mayo, a sister, Mary Eustice, of Alpharetta, GA, 4 grandchildren, Megan, Macayla, Mia, and Kaitlyn, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Alton Church of God in Mayo with Bro. Lamar "Cooter" McCray and Bro. Tim Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in Alton Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
