Description	:	Mr. Thomas Lester McCray, known as "Tommy" to his family and friends, 49, passed away on March 19, 2022 in Tallahassee, FL. Tommy was born May 22, 1972 in Lake City, Florida to Mr. Charles Wayman McCray and Dwala Louise Land McCray. He was a 1990 graduate of Lafayette High School where he played on the Varsity Baseball Team. He also attended Santa Fe Community College where he played on the Santa Fe Baseball Team. Read More	Mr. Thomas Lester McCray, known as "Tommy" to his family and friends, 49, passed away on March 19, 2022 in Tallahassee, FL. Tommy was born May 22, 1972 in Lake City, Florida to Mr. Charles Wayman McCray and Dwala Louise Land McCray. He was a 1990 graduate of Lafayette High School where he played on the Varsity Baseball Team. He also attended Santa Fe Community College where he played on the Santa Fe Baseball Team. In the years following he played Class A Travel League Softball with several teams. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Alton Church of God. He worked as a Correctional Officer at Mayo Florida State Correctional for 27 years before his retirement. He then acquired his CDL License and drove a Semi for numerous companies until he went to work for JLM as a Millwright. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his side by side, watching Gator sports, and spending time with his friends and family. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Wayman McCray. He is survived by; his wife of 16 years, Christy McCray; his mother, Dwala McCray, of Mayo; 4 daughters, Megan Raulerson, and husband Coleton, of Lawrenceville, GA, Macayla Blawn, of Mayo, Mia Murray, and husband Mickey, of Lake City, and Kaitlyn Blawn, of Mayo; 1 brother, Todd McCray, and wife Kristi, of St. Augustine; 1 granddaughter, Camilla Murray; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Alton Church of God with Bro. Tim Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in Alton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00PM prior to the service. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo, Mayo, Florida.
