(Gig) Polk, 83, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. George Henderson, Sunday night. Interment was to be in IOOF Cemetery in New Vienna. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include Mrs. Henderson; two brothers, John T. of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Burch, of New Vienna; two sisters, Misses Evelyn and Sarah Polk, both of New Vienna. ----- Wilmington News-Journal Wilmington, Ohio Thursday, 1 December 1955 SERVICE HELD FOR CHARLES W. POLK Funeral services for Charles W. Polk, who died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Henderson, near New Vienna, were conducted at the Smith Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. C.L. Wamsley in charge, assisted by Rev. Marvin Schamaun. Rev. Schamaun read the Scripture and offered prayer, and also read the memoir, prepared by Mrs. John Burton. Rev. Wamsley delivered the message, closing with prayer. Music was of organ selections. Pallbearers were John Edward Smith, John Frederick Miller, William Robinson Sr., Wendell Griffith and Everett Ross. Interment was in New Vienna IOOF Cemetery.
