Description	:	Charles Willard 'Wid' Dixon, of Nashua, NH and formerly of Eliot, ME and Jericho, VT, passed away peacefully on June 17th at Langdon Place in Nashua, NH. Born December 6, 1924 in Eliot, ME, he was the son of the late George and Georgianna (Noyes) Dixon. He was the husband of the late Lois Marilyn Dixon to whom he was married on November 24, 1948 in Kittery, ME. Read More	Charles Willard 'Wid' Dixon, of Nashua, NH and formerly of Eliot, ME and Jericho, VT, passed away peacefully on June 17th at Langdon Place in Nashua, NH. Born December 6, 1924 in Eliot, ME, he was the son of the late George and Georgianna (Noyes) Dixon. He was the husband of the late Lois Marilyn Dixon to whom he was married on November 24, 1948 in Kittery, ME. He was a 1942 graduate of Eliot High School and later of the Lowell Institute of Boston, MA. He retired from IBM in 1991. Wid enlisted in the Marines shortly after graduating from high school and served in the 3rd Marine Division on Guam during World War II. Always interested in 'how things work,' he took up aircraft mechanics in 1946 and commuted from Maine to his job at Pratt and Whitney in Hartford, CT on his 1937 Harley Davidson. He later was employed at Yankee Airways in Portsmouth, NH where he earned his private pilot's license. He never lost his interest in aircraft and flight, building ultra-lights in his retirement. He was a lifelong skier, passing his passion to his children and grandchildren. He also was involved in sports car racing as a driver and later as a flagger. Charles is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Foye Dixon and his wife Alecia Newton Dixon, of Georgia, VT and four grandchildren, Mason Dixon of Beverly, MA, and Skyler Dixon of Essex, VT, and Caleb and Sydney Van Gilder of Pepperill, MA. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn (Bartlett) in 2017 and his daughter, Rebecca Louise Dixon, of Hollis, NH in 2019. SERVICES: Per his request, there are no visiting hours or funeral service. He will be interred at a later date along with his wife in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, ME. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Langdon Place for the great care they provided.
