Logansport, Ind., Aug. 17 News has been received in this city of the death at El Paso, Texas of Mrs. Charles (W) Eastes, formerly Miss Jewell (L) Dean, of this city, while en route to her new home in Mexico. Mrs. Eastes was a bride for but ten days and her death ended a happy honeymoon which she and her husband were taking. Her death was due to hemorrhages. Mrs. Eastes has been in the south-west for several years for her health, and was only called to this city a short time ago by the sudden death of her mother, Mrs. Timothy Dean, who was found dead in bed. She had planned on her marriage before the death of her mother, and the week before last, Eastes, who is a mining engineer in Mexico, came to this city and they were quietly married. After spending a few days here, the bride and groom left last Friday morning for their new home. When they arrived at El Paso, Texas, Sunday noon, Mrs. Eastes was taken seriously ill, and Eastes telegraphed to Miss Anna Dean, sister of the bride in this city, telling her to come at once. Miss Dean left Sunday afternoon for El Paso. Shortly after she left another message was received by her father, stating that Mrs. Eastes had died very suddenly.
